After reading and hearing about how great this place is, I can't say it was all I thought it would be. No doubt they have an excellent beer selection. Service was very good and I was offered small tasters to help with my decision making. The place is small and was crowded during my visit. It is a BEER bar with the taps mainly representing CA beers, which is a good thing. Large selection of Belgian bottles. I guess I was spoiled when I was able to visit the Maproom while living near Chicago, it is still my overall favorite.

Great place, great beer, pretty good food (the beer cheese burger was intresting), unbelievable selection... a must visit for any beer lover in san diego. Like metioned before, odd location but hey people will come for the beers, not many places like this one, check it out!
Oh and to dispel any bullshit, the owner is a cool guy.

I can't understand why any reviewer would say the owner isn't friendly. This place has the best beer selection in San Diego and Tom is always opening bottles and doing special tastings. The food is great - I always eat off of the specials board. There is no better place in San Diego to drink good beer.

O'Brien's never fails to impress. They have an amazing selection of tap & bottled beers. You can often find beers here that are downright IMPOSSIBLE to get in this part of the country. Great selection of IPA's and Belgian styles - this is one of the very few places in town where you can get Russian River beers on a regular basis. (I believe that The Liars' Club and Pizza Port are the others.) The food is good, and the comfy chairs are a nice touch. The decor is beer and all beer. Lousy music - we had to suffer through Pink Floyd AND Dave Matthews to enjoy some of the most delicious beer around. Service on every one of our visits has been excellent. Though not a regular, we try to get here every couple of weeks. The Liars' Club and O'Brien's are easily the best beer bars in San Diego - don't miss either one! Obee's in Ocean Beach and San Diego Brewing Co. are also worth checking out.

Great beer selection and good food help make up for the snotty waitresses who think they're doing you a favor by doing their jobs. Still, if you like great beer, this place is hard to beat!

This place captures the heart of the two most vocal subcategories of beer enthusiasts: the hopheads and the Belgian beer lovers. Great selection of draft ales and the IBUs are helpfully |
